Los reflejos de la luna
Wharton, Edith
Nick Lansing and Susy Branch are young, attractive, brilliant. Nick suffers from a dwindling family heritage and from writing articles for an encyclopedia, although his ambition is to be a novelist. Susy, daughter of a wasteful father, has been knowing how to "cope" with her since she was seventeen, and living on borrowed money in the multiple houses of her millionaire friends. Neither of them has a penny, but they are in love and decide to get married, on the condition that they will separate amicably if in the future either of them finds "a better match." Reflections from the Moon (1922), published two years after Edith Wharton won the Pulitzer Prize for The Age of Innocence, poses moral dilemmas through a lively plot of intrigue, humiliation, and misunderstanding.
