Many years ago, the world fragmented into floating islands called arks. Anima is where Ophélie resides. Beneath her worn scarf, her myopic glasses and her indifferent attitude, the young woman hides some singular powers: she can read the past of objects and travel through mirrors. Her life is turned upside down when she is betrothed to Thorn, the taciturn head of an influential family, and she must relocate to the Citadel, the capital of an ice-covered ark where intrigue and betrayal lurk around every corner. Together with her inscrutable fiancé, Ophélie is soon drawn into a deadly political game whose ramifications reach far beyond anything she could imagine.
