In New York at the beginning of the 1940s, a private detective and her peculiar assistant try to solve the most unusual crimes. For three years Willowjean Parker has been the assistant to the famous detective Lillian Pentecost. Will ran away from her house when she was still a child and joined a circus where she learned everything. Lillian, suffering from sclerosis, agreed with her in one of her investigations and offered to be her assistant.
