Los mitos de Cthulhu, 1

Lovecraft, H. P.

"The Cthulhu Mythos" make up a cycle of terrifying literature established by the American writer H. P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) and several of his main associates and disciples, among whom are some of the most outstanding writers of the genre at that stage of its development. The master and his followers established what we commonly refer to as "Lovecraft's circle", and were the creators of a new fantastic mythology founded on the revelation that, in our daily time-space, lurk blindly evil creatures that can destroy it in any way. their eagerness to recover the old dominion they had over him. They are infinitely powerful beings, who only wait for the best opportunity to seize that domain and to whom chance, the stubbornness of a reckless investigator, the incursion into previously unknown places or the human will to come into contact with superior cosmic forces put in relation to us. Although there are several authors who have contributed to shaping the Cthulhu mythos, the core of the mythology that surrounds it is due to the ingenuity of the master of Providence, being his disciples and friends who delved into the path traced by Lovecraft and developed or completed the paths secondaries of the set.
