Los más grandes tenores de ópera
Dentici Burgoa, Nino
This work contains the study of the voice and the artistic career of one hundred and eighty-seven tenors, the most important in the history of the Opera. For this, the author has highlighted the different periods and styles of singing starting with the Baroque and running through the Enlightenment, Classicism, Romanticism and Verism, ending in modern times with theatrical opera. In an aside, the author has wanted to make a list with the twenty-five largest, among the one hundred and eighty-seven included, based on the technique shown by each of them and taking into account the vocal quality and the timbral beauty, the singing line and expressiveness, the sung repertoire, the duration of each artistic life and the opinions of other colleagues, contemporary or not, and those of critics in general. Likewise, the author has wanted to treat in a final chapter, those tenors who achieved great success in life, since they had the misfortune that their careers were short, which has not allowed them to appear among the twenty-five greatest chosen.
