Los elegidos
López, Fernando J.
Asun and Santos meet one night in January 1950 at a tablao where she works singing coplas. From that encounter a relationship is born that will soon become a marriage. Santos is a young librarian at the Ateneo de Madrid and directs a theater group at the university; she leaves the stage to dedicate herself to the house and to attend to the young students to whom they have rented a room. Behind that façade of a conventional couple hides a different reality: Santos married Asun to appear to be a "good man"; because no one can know the truth. The arrival of two new tenants and the rehearsals for a play that Santos will premiere within the framework of the First University Congress of Young Writers, organized by people related to the clandestine Communist Party, will cause a revolution in the couple's lives that will change everything. An unconventional story of love, friendship and struggle.
