At barely twenty years old, Emma Blair marries Jesse, her great love of youth, and together they build the adventurous life they have always wanted, traveling the world. Emma as a freelance travel writer and Jesse as a nature documentary production assistant. They are both very happy, making the most of life and taking advantage of every opportunity they get to travel. However, on their first wedding anniversary, the helicopter carrying Jesse disappears in the Pacific, plunging Emma into utter despair. In an attempt to put her life back together, Emma returns to her home where, years later, she reunites with Sam, an old friend of hers, and falls in love with her again. When Emma and Sam get engaged, it seems like her life is giving her a new chance at love... Until she suddenly receives a call from Jesse.
