Las hijas de la guerra
Tres hermanas en Berlín. Unas galerías de moda. Una promesa de futuro.
Riebe, Brigitte
Berlin, May 1945: it is zero hour, the city is in ruins, as well as the souls of its people. The Thalheim am Ku'damm department store has also been completely destroyed. The three sisters who inherited the business, Rike, Silvie and Florentine, stare in terror and petrified at the ruins of family pride. But Rike is unwilling to let her life pass through the rubble. She has a project and is willing to give up her skin to carry it out: rebuild the department store and color sad post-war Berlin with refined fabrics, pastel colors and the latest fashion creations. After the monetary reform, people begin to feel like consuming, participating in what seems like a new economic miracle, forgetting war and misery. However, the new times drag past problems and when a dark secret seems to throw an inglorious light on the fashion galleries and their history, the three sisters will realize that the past is still very much alive.
