Las hijas de Isabel II
Isabel, Pilar, Paz y Eulalia, cuatro infantas al servicio de España
Barreiro Gordillo, Cristina
Isabel, Pilar, Paz and Eulalia were the daughters of Queen Elizabeth II. Four women very different from each other whose existence passed in the service of her mother and her brother Alfonso XII. Isabel, la Chata, was the castiza princess; Pilar died too young; Paz was the kind woman who was always attentive to her family and Eulalia, the rebellious infanta, never stopped fighting for her freedom. Cristina Barreiro has recreated their lives from a novel and has traced a wonderful journey through a century of history, since the birth of Chata in 1851. With them we will travel from Madrid to Paris, London and Munich through wars and times of peace . We will meet Isabel II, Luisa Fernanda, Napoleon III, Eugenia de Montijo, Queen Victoria, Sissi, Alfonso XIII or Victoria Eugenia. We will attend the Restoration, the end of the empires, the exile of the Spanish kings or the rise and fall of Nazism in a dance with history. We will move between the shoe stores of Calle Desengaño and the lavish designs of Worth. Between tiaras and dressings, to the sound of the zarzuela, the waltz and the Charleston, these four infantas de España will reveal to us the essence of a world that, behind them, came to an end.
