Laberintos

This could be the Portrait of the artist as a teenager by Charles Burns, since it is difficult not to see in Brian Milner, the protagonist of Labyrinths, the author's alter ego. In this first volume we will begin to get to know him: Brian is a shy teenager, prodigiously gifted for drawing, who is obsessed with horror movies and who must fight day after day against his inner fears. When he unexpectedly receives the warm attention of Laurie, a girl her age, the borders between reality and imagination begin to blur. With Labyrinths, Master Burns returns to his roots: insane love stories, B movies and a walk through the ominous crossroads where science fiction, horror and Japanese kaiju meet.
