La vigília
Premi Josep Pla 2019
Artigau i Queralt, Marc
Raimon writes short stories for the radio and lives with his brother Blai, who was injured in a forest accident when he was a child and now has a simple life working in an occupational workshop. One day, Rai receives a strange assignment, an old woman who always listens to his stories, Celia, wants to hire him to write his biography: "I would never have imagined that your tales would tell my life so well." Their relationship will grow on the basis of story and memory. She will be responsible for rewriting everything she has lived, and he will try to find out what lies behind an innocent offer. The vigil is a novel that unites the best and the worst of human beings. It is a story about the infinite power of love, the value of our memories and the life that we have decided to carry on to survive our past.
