La tierra oculta

La tierra oculta

Rivas, Manuel (1957- )

The Hidden Land brings together works by Manuel Rivas that have in common the condition of nature literature, a manuscript of the earth, understood as a real and symbolic space of emergency, abandonment, crisis and fight against extinction. This volume includes fundamental books by Rivas - A Million Cows, awarded the Spanish Critics' Prize, The Potato Eaters, and In Wild Company, Galician Critics' Prize - in a new edition revised by the author, and also includes a anthology of stories titled The Inhabitants of Difficulty. All of them propose a look at the rural universe far removed from customs and can be read as a metaphor for the world in which we live. A literature in which everything speaks, human and non-human people, and in which imagination is a key to enter the shadow zone of reality.
