La sombra de Magui aún está en el jardín
Lagarda-Mata, Sylvia
Marc, historian and teacher, begins to be interested in what he calls "the family enigma": the disappearance of Magui Viladalba, his great-grandmother's sister, in the family home in Barcelona at the San Juan festival in 1919. Now that all Witnesses to the tragedy are dead, only the vague memories of his grandmother Marga and the book that his great-great-grandfather wrote can bring Marc closer to solving the case. Despite the time and the absence of evidence, Marc receives two unexpected help: one comes from the lawyer Anna, whom he has met online, and the other from Teresina, Magui's friend, who lives in the old family house now converted in residence. In Barcelona in 1919, the inspector Hilario Manzaneda is in charge of finding evidence in the Viladalba house, investigating the relationships between them and fighting against the influences of the powerful family, who defend tooth and nail the kidnapping of the girl as only possible option. Two stories separated in time unfold in parallel in this fascinating domestic noir, in which the reader fits together the pieces of the investigation until reaching the surprising resolution of the enigma of Magui's disappearance.
