The heroes dreamed of finding a safe haven on that fast-flowing river. But the balance of eternal power is always shifting. The Queen of Darkness was defeated, but not destroyed. Her powers are many and people are weak. The lessons of the past are forgotten and the waters of the river become more turbulent and dangerous. But it will not be the Heroes of the Lance who must throw themselves into the troubled river of the approaching war. The time has come for those who are younger, stronger. It is time to hand over the sword, or the magician's staff, to those who will be the heroes of the second generation. Or those who will bring perdition for that new era.
