La secta

For the first time in Spain, in 2021 an administration opened a sanctioning procedure against a Sevillian psychologist on the accusation of promoting conversion therapies for trans people. It happened to Carola López Moya, after having suffered a veritable hunt by several organizations that denounced her before the Health Department of the Junta de Andalucía, for some tweets in which she stated that "trans women are men" or that "the sex reassignment surgeries are a business that profits from the discomfort that gender produces. Finally, the Board archived the file, since it considered that the psychologist's opinions did not constitute an administrative infraction punishable with fines of between 60,000 and 120,000 euros, or even temporary disqualification. But this helped Carola López to learn how the harassment campaigns of transactivism work and the sectarian manipulation strategies that she uses. In this book she analyzes how the queer movement has become a new religion, with its own inquisition to burn at the stake or stone those who dare to contradict its dogmas. The author exposes how this sect uses coercive persuasion, propaganda, censorship and promises of salvation, and how it focuses on vulnerable people such as adolescents. The sect is not an allegation against transsexual people, but a criticism of the ideology behind the trans identity and the paradigm shift regarding transsexuality that the new Trans Law has brought. Carola López argues that if a young person is unhappy with his body, the logical thing to do is to help him accept himself with the least possible invasion through therapy, although for many this reflection is equivalent to a "transphobic" hate crime. The trans sect renames attention to psychological discomfort as "conversion" therapy and hormonal treatments and surgeries with irreversible damage they call it "depathologizing". But, when the cases of minors sick for life, repentant and with their organs atrophied or amputated, begin to increase, what mental pirouette will all the complicit people in this situation do to justify themselves?
