La revolución de la proximidad
de la "ciudad-mundo" a la "ciudad de los quince minutos"
Moreno, Carlos (1959- )
In the complex and vibrant open-air laboratory of our urban spaces, where our contradictions are manifested and changes in habits and ways of life are experienced, the great challenges of humanity's development are also concentrated. Faced with the triple ecological, economic and social challenge that we are facing, Carlos Moreno proposes to reconsider the city based on use, proximity and the suppression of displacements. What he has called "the city of fifteen minutes" supposes another way of living, of consuming, of working, of being in the city; It implies rethinking the way of moving, of traversing space, of exploring it, of discovering it. The 15-minute city seeks to recover the multipolar character of cities, bring services closer to people, give more importance to the local, recover neighborhood ties, get out of the social status imposed by the world of work and keep our distance from that city given over to cars to recover the love for places. The multicentric city is there to blow up all this: to recover the particular character and spirit of each city and offer the opportunity to regain control of the time of our lives.
