Shortly afterwards, Ambrose sends a letter to Philip announcing that he has decided to marry him, and shortly afterwards the former heir to the large Cornish estate receives a new letter. this time of what is already his cousin Rachel, in which he notifies her that, as a result of a strange illness, Ambrose has died suddenly and has been buried in Italy.
