Octavio Ribeiro is a dreamer committed to freedom, but above all he is a faithful lover of his wife Salomé. He wooed her with the verses of great poets, but it was her intelligence and her passion to defend her ideals that captivated her. When a coup d'état establishes an atrocious dictatorship in Chile, Salomé begs Octavio not to expose her family by confronting the regime, but he does not listen and it is she who ends up paying the price. When the possibility of exile presents itself, Salomé will discover that the road back to love is full of painful truths that they must face.
