La leyenda del volcán

Costa Rica, December 1883. Aitana Ugarte, a young woman from Bilbao, disembarks in Puerto Limón to marry by arranged marriage with a sixty-year-old landowner, owner of a coffee plantation in the prosperous Turrialba Highlands, at the foot of a legendary volcano on which circulates a mysterious legend. But when she arrives at the ranch she finds a devastated land, her recently deceased husband and his son, an alcoholic man, about to lose the ranch for playing dice. Aitana will have to face innumerable obstacles to take over her inheritance, put down roots in a strange territory and forge her own destiny.
