La estrella de la mañana
Knausgard, Karl Ove
On an August night in Norway, a glow suddenly lights up the sky: it is a huge new star that rises dizzyingly, without anyone being able to explain it. Magnetized, restless, some characters observe her in the midst of their own crossroads. There is Arne, a literature teacher, who is trying to deal with the difficulties of his marriage to his wife Tove, who suffers from bipolar disorder. And there is also Kathrine, a pastor of the Church who is surprised when, upon returning from a seminar, he decides to spend the night in a hotel instead of in his own house. There is Emil, Iselin: two insecure young people who take refuge in their talent for music. Jostein, a crime journalist relegated to the culture pages, will find her chance to regain his position during an unpredictable and erratic night that his wife, Turid, will spend in the mental hospital where she works. As she also works in a Solveig hospital, she will experience an incomprehensible and disturbing situation with one of her patients. It will not be the only one in this novel, full of threatening signs: crabs that invade the road; unknown birds that swirl; a plague of ladybugs; dangerous glimpses in the night, and a macabre crime, who knows if everything under the influence of the star...
