La divinidad comedia

La divinidad comedia

Dante Alighieri
Botticelli, Sandro (il.)

This new bilingual edition of the Comedy presents some remarkable features. In the first place, translation: an exercise in philological and poetic wisdom, poured into white hendecasyllables, which flees from the mere literality of the words in an attempt to achieve the most faithful and literal result of their meaning, respecting the way in which that this is said, prosody and logical, theological, cosmological, poetological, historical and political reasoning. Secondly, the three introductory essays, as well as the extensive and rich apparatus of Notes and Commentaries together with the updated Bibliography and the exhaustive Index of Proper Names and Notable Things, which will undoubtedly facilitate the understanding and enjoyment of this fundamental work, offered today to the reader on the occasion of the seventh centenary of Dante's death. Third, the illustrations: this is the first edition in Spanish of the Commedia that reproduces the wonderful drawings and color illuminations that Sandro Botticelli made for each of the Cantos that compose it.
