Ivo Cukar and his family are cockroaches and they live happily in the house of the old Mrs. Atril. But one day she dies and everything changes. The Cukar will have to flee before the new owner fumigates the house and they all die. Through the sewers of the city, the Cukar escape and arrive at the Apolo Hotel, where they want to live. There they find a type of cockroaches who say that the hotel is their home and that they are the ones who set the conditions and decide who can be there. Ivo then discovers the difficulties of moving freely in the world and the sense of equality.
