La ciutat sense veïns
víctimes i botxins a la Barcelona de l'especulació immobiliària
Merino, Andreu
The city without neighbors is the raw portrait of a Barcelona where the right to housing is increasingly violated. The concentration of property, the lack of laws to intervene in the market and the impoverishment of people draw a scenario in which access to a flat is usually a chimera. The investigation by journalist Andreu Merino is based on particular cases to explain situations shared by thousands of Barcelonans: from non-payment of rent to eviction and the connivance of the judicial system, to the shame of the occupation mafias. The Covid-19 pandemic has put access to housing even more at the center of the political and social debate, and has pushed many residents who see the city evicting them to the limit.
