Amsterdam, 1942. The Nazi flag is already flying in the Netherlands and thousands of Jews await the day of their deportation in places like the Hollandsche Shouwburg Theatre. Professor Johan van Hulst witnesses the conditions in which Jewish children wait, fearful and without sustenance, and is unable to remain unmoved in the face of so much suffering. To deal with the tragedy, he will contact Henriëtte Pimentel -the director of the nearest nursery school- and Walter Süskind -the German Jew forced to draw up the lists of deportees-. Together they will design a network of passageways through which they will try to save the children, while hiding from the eyes of an increasingly ruthless regime...
