La batalla cultural

Culture has ceased to occupy the secondary place that was once assigned to it. Reflection, epiphenomenon, superstructure or mere seasoning determined by other social spheres: culture was condemned for a long time to marginality with respect to the political and the economic. But today this is no longer the case. Culture has become structural. It is confused with the economic, it completely penetrates the political: culture goes through the very heart of power. Agustín Laje, writer, political scientist, intellectual and lecturer, presents in this work six chapters on the political history of culture. Throughout the book, he dialogues with the most renowned sociologists, philosophers, political scientists, anthropologists and historians, positioning himself at the same level as the great intellectuals. Laje's interest lies in revealing how culture, in the modern world and, above all, in our postmodern phase, becomes a political matter. This is what is called "cultural battle": a confrontation of a political nature whose purpose is to influence the elements of a culture through cultural devices and institutions.
