Karen feels lucky because even though her parents divorced and remarried, she has two families and two houses. Every weekend she goes to her father's house, where a lot of people live, including Kristy, the founder of The Babysitter Club. But also, next to the big house lives Mrs. Porter, a mysterious old lady with a black cat whom Karen likes to spy on because... she is convinced that Mrs. Porter is a witch named Morbid Fate!
