Justicia Social en el Islam
la obra fundamental en el pensamiento islámico contemporáneo y piedra angular del movimiento de los Hermanos Musulmanes
Qutb, Sayyid
Social Justice in Islam is a key book not only in the intellectual evolution of its author, but in that of contemporary Islamic thought. Its wording, in principle, responded to a very specific political objective: to establish within Islam an ideological model that in the social field was capable of confronting with guarantees the system proposed by Marxism, whose doctrines since the beginning of the 20th century had gradually acquiring a certain strength throughout the Arab world. However, the impact of the work far exceeded this initial purpose. The renewed concepts about Islamic doctrine, which Qutb offers in germ in this book, and which he will later develop in the rest of his later production, will become over the years the most solid foundations of Islamic fundamentalism. The work represents the first attempt to demonstrate the relevance of Islam in the field of socio-economic affairs. There is no need to resort to doctrines foreign to Islam, since it has within it the most complete conception of social justice. The influence of Qutb and his work on contemporary Islamic radicalism is extraordinary. Qutb's brother, Muhammad, was a teacher and mentor to young Osama Bin Laden. Today's radical Islamic groups, such as al-Qaeda or Islamic Jihad, owe much of their founding theoretical principles to Qutb's thinking. It is therefore not surprising that al-Zawahiri, one of the mentors of the al-Qaeda group together with Osama bin Laden, dedicates in most of his writings the most complimentary comments to both the figure and the work of Sayyid. Qutb.
