Jaque al emperador

Jaque al emperador

Barat, Juan Ramón

In the spring of 1808, Napoleon's troops invaded Spain. Faced with the impossibility of facing such a powerful invader in the open field, the Spanish were forced to carry out guerrilla warfare. Thousands of men are organized in parties, united by the feeling of honor, loyalty to the Crown and ancestral hatred for the French. In a short time the entire country becomes an immense battlefield. One of the most prominent soldiers of the contest is José Romeu, a simple man endowed with exceptional courage and tactical intelligence who, commanding a party of fighters harassed by despair, manages to put the entire Napoleonic army in check and reach the dignity of myth.
