Japan Sinks

el hundimiento de Japón

Komatsu, Sakyo

After the mysterious sinking of an uninhabited island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a scientific expedition under the command of Dr. Tadokoro explores the underwater bed of the Japan Trench aboard a bathyscaphe capable of descending to a depth of ten thousand meters. With the gloomy sensation of traveling imprisoned in a metal coffin bound for a deep cemetery, they will enter their ship into waters that exert a terrifying pressure, like a monster imbued with the will to crush them in its claws. And what they find down there awakens a frightening suspicion in Dr. Tadokoro, who from now on will fight to involve the Government in the formation of an interdisciplinary team to reduce the effects of the imminent disaster he foresees.
