(In)dignidades mediáticas en la sociedad digital
Lacalle Zalduendo, María Rosario
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1948, placed human dignity among the fundamental concepts of Moral Philosophy. Since then, the media have played a decisive role in its promotion and safeguarding; but also in the construction and dissemination of indignities. The work examines this double face in today's society, through the analysis of some paradigmatic stories where the media displays its full potential: information about nursing homes at the beginning of the pandemic; the resignification processes of the cultural past; the sensationalism of "reality shows" in the social construction of female characters, and the review of the most recurrent (in)dignities of the digital environment.
