Ilíada
Homero
In the last year of the war against Toia, Achilles, angry with Agamemnon who had taken his captive Briseida, withdrew from the battle. Its absence causes terrible disasters and causes the defeat of the Achaean forces. Only a second and more terrible rage, caused by the death of his friend Patroclus, will push Achilles back into battle. A poem, now translated for the first time in prose, of a sustained greatness and also full of an eternal human truth, in an atmosphere of powerful fantasy.
