Durant's History of Philosophy not only offers the ideas and philosophical systems of "monarchs of thought" such as Plato, Aristotle, Francis Bacon, Spinoza, Kant, Voltaire, Locke and others of similar stature, but also their characters, their biographies of flesh and blood. The author presents the titans of yesteryear and, in the same way, does not forget the most famous modern philosophers of his time, such as Bergson, Croce, Russell or Dewey. In this magnum opus, he constructs with rigor and scrupulous erudition a history of philosophy in which he shows how the ideas of each thinker inspired and influenced, intertwining with each other, the following generations.
