Guerra

Céline, Louis-Ferdinand

The adventures of Guerra's manuscript are fictional. At the end of World War II, when fleeing France with other Nazi collaborators, Louis-Ferdinand Céline left behind two suitcases full of manuscripts. Someone stole them, and their track was lost for decades, until they were recovered in 2021 and the material they contained was studied. The first of the texts to see the light is the one that the reader is holding in his hands, written between the two masterpieces that the author published in the pre-war period: Journey to the End of the Night and Death on Credit. The rescue of this unpublished novel is, therefore, a literary event.
