Mexico, 1925. Frida's great desire is to be a doctor, but a terrible accident prevents her from living her dream. Her chance unites her with Diego, one of the great figures in the world of painting. Frida and Diego fall in love instantly and he convinces her to become an artist. Frida follows hers, her own ideas, intuitions and dreams, and manages to succeed with a unique style, with a strength never seen before. But the pain of failed love is unbearable and she, who overcame the limitations of her own body, staggers before Diego's infidelities. Until the day comes when she has to make the most important decision of her life. And in doing so she begins to forge her legend and speak out on behalf of women who remain in the shadow of any man.
