Exposiciones y comisariado
relatos cruzados
Fernández López, Olga
The academic study of the history of exhibitions and curatorship is a relatively recent phenomenon. Although at the beginning it became intertwined with art history and museology studies, in recent years it has gradually acquired autonomy. Exhibitions can be studied as generators of the public sphere, as discursive and representational spheres, as devices that produce psychological and social experiences and as production formats that can determine artistic production. Curating is a practice of discursive mediation that gained strength in the second half of the 20th century and whose "doing" is distinguished by the combination of practical and intellectual aspects that give meaning to the heterogeneous set of contemporary works of art. This book intertwines both genealogies and proposes a unified history of their convergence. To do so, it displays six stories that cross this interweaving and proposes lines of interpretation of a more thematic than chronological nature.
