Estuarioa
Iturregi, Patxi
The place of the stories. The Nerbioi and Ibaizabal rivers form a thin estuary at the exit to the Bay of Biscay, which has been inhabited by the human species since ancient times. XIX From the end of the 19th century, this fluvial river environment began an intense process of transformation, mainly based on the steel industry and the exploitation of iron ore, thus becoming one of the main industrial and commercial centers of Europe. Later, the deep decline of the eighties brought the opportunity to project a service conurbation called Greater Bilbao, where the mighty factories and shipyards of the past are but a faint memory of the past. Patxi Iturregi has woven his last stories there, with elegance and mastery.
