Estética de la novela

"Aesthetics of the novel" presents a history of the novel through the various aesthetics that this genre has displayed since its appearance in Antiquity to the present. Starting from a conception of the complex phenomenon "novel" as a bridge between popular culture and high culture, these aesthetics are explained as the journey of the spirit of the open society when detaching itself from tradition without renouncing to use it. From a new conception of the origins of the novel (the "protonovela"), the two orientations are traversed of the premodern novel (the courtesan and the popular) and the great fusion that the modern novel means to offer a horizon of equality and freedom
