(il.)
This 2021 commemorates the centenary of the death of the writer Emilia Pardo Bazán, a brave woman who fought all her life for women's rights. Emilia lived a happy childhood with her parents in Galicia, in which she took her first literary steps. At the age of 16, she, Emilia, married José Quiroga and Pérez Deza, with whom she had three children, but in 1885 she decided to separate from her husband and dedicate herself full time to literature. In this graphic novel we will discover how Emilia will travel through many countries, she will write numerous novels, essays and plays and will live passionate romances like the one she had with the writer Benito Pérez Galdós. She was a fighter woman who suffered a great disappointment at not being able to enter the Language Academy that she denied her entry up to three times. Emilia herself died on May 12, 1921 and was buried in the crypt of the Concepción church in Madrid against her wishes, which were to be transferred to the Pazo de Meirás. Today, one hundred years after her death, she is considered the greatest Spanish representative of the naturalistic literary trend and one of the best writers of the 19th century.
