We already know that Catalonia is a diverse country with many places to discover and experiences to live. Mountains, an extensive coastline, inland villages that preserve the medieval layout, seafaring villages, castles that marked the border with the Saracens, splendid monasteries, lofty hermitages, festivals rooted in the territory and a cuisine that has deserved all international praise. All this without forgetting modernism, that art that marked the beginning of the twentieth century and of which Catalonia is a great reference. One third of the Catalan territory has some degree of protection and more than two dozen buildings are recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. With all this background, in this book we have selected 15 sections: villages, monasteries, cathedrals and large churches, hermitages and shrines, castles, modernist houses, museums, wineries, Iberian and Roman sites, natural landscapes, ponds, beaches and coves, festivals traditional, leisure activities and traditional gastronomy. In an orderly manner and with a situation map, we have chosen 10 from each of these sections, which in our opinion are most relevant. In this way we have built a useful book, suitable for getting to know Catalonia and as a guide for our travels. Each place's history and characteristics are explained, with the addition of a small practical guide, all seasoned with various images.
