France, 1943. A group of Jewish children, from various European countries, arrive in France to escape the tragedy that devastated Europe during World War II. With the occupation of France by the Germans, their lives are in danger. Sabine Zlatin, a Red Cross nurse, will look after them and find a place where they can take refuge until the end of the war. On May 18, 1943, with the fear that someone would stop them, they arrive at Villa Anne-Marie, a white house where children will share fears and longing for their parents, who left behind, but will also enjoy the peace of the place , the games near the big fountain and the stories that Léon, an educator, tells them so that sleep can overcome them. And, above all, they will rediscover the value of friendship, first love and caring for each other. At the same time, Octavi Verdier, a young journalist, writes a novel about the Nazi presence in Barcelona in the 1940s, which contrasts with the Barcelona subjugated by the Franco regime. During this creative process that forces him to investigate, he discovers what is hidden behind the door of the office of Gustau Verdier, his grandfather, who in 1944 came from France and bought a textile factory in Terrassa. The search will end up at Villa Anne-Marie, in Izieu.
