El viento y la semilla

Martínez Llorca, Ricardo

As if he intended to search on a human scale for the foundations and consequences of globalization, Ricardo Martínez Llorca undertakes a journey through a region of Argentina that is alien to any type of tourism. He travels thousands of kilometers of the so-called "green desert", where large agricultural extensions dedicated to growing transgenic soybeans have taken over the territory. This colonization increases emigration to urban poverty belts, and leads to the disappearance of cultures, ethnic groups and animal species. We are facing the deforestation of the Chaco forest, the second largest forest mass in South America, and the appearance of diseases linked to the pesticides with which the plantations are fumigated.
