El tesoro de La Girona
Pellicer, Javier
The year is 1588. The defeat of the Spanish Armada of Felipe II has been complete. Battered and decomposed, she returns to Spain skirting the north coast of Ireland. But God seems to send the elements against her: a terrible storm causes the shipwreck of more than twenty ships; among them, the hitherto robust Neapolitan galley La Girona. This is the story of one of the few survivors: the Spanish Tercios soldier Joan Mateu. Exhausted, defeated, and his dreams broken, he will wander aimlessly until he arrives at Dunluce Castle. There, the Irish clan of the MacDonnells will give him shelter, and something until then unknown to him will be born when he meets the young Ealasaid. At last it seems that luck changes, that their demons may be left behind, but fate has other plans for them...
