El simbolismo de la cruz

Like any fundamental symbol of Sacred Science, the cross has multiple meanings that, far from contradicting each other, complement each other. The cross is a universal symbol that, in different forms and aspects, has been found almost everywhere and since the earliest times. In the present study, Réne Guénon develops above all the metaphysical meaning of the cross, from which all the others derive. "If Christ died on the cross", affirms Guénon, "it is because of the symbolic value that the cross possesses in itself and that has been recognized by all traditions". The symbolism of the cross constitutes one of the most important contributions in the field of metaphysics and symbolism, and allows us to discover how every traditional symbol has a non-human origin and a universal value.
