El malaventurat senyor Clauss

Pasqual i Llorenç, Marta

On May 2, 1944, already in the last phase of the Second World War, Franco's government signed a cooperation agreement with the United States and Great Britain. One of the consequences was that a group of agents in the service of the Third Reich, who resided on Spanish soil and were considered dangerous by the allies, were sent a confinement order. Instead of being handed over to the Allies, they were locked up within the boundaries of a town or a spa. The ill-fated Mr. Clauss tells the story of one of those confined in Caldes de Malavella, and the story of how the narrator pulls the thread of this story, and the other stories woven into it. The result is a literary sharp portrait of a complex character and a murky time.
