El hijo de Eulalia
Luis Fernando de Orleans, el infante que escandalizó a la corte de Alfonso XIII
Álvarez, Eduardo (1976- )
Luis Fernando de Orleans y Borbón, son of the Infanta Eulalia and grandson of Isabel II, was born Infante of Spain in 1888 but died in 1945 stripped of title and honors by decision of his cousin King Alfonso XIII, who could not forgive the scandals that made him one of the most eccentric protagonists of the Belle Époque and of the roaring twenties in Paris, thus going from being one of the members of the royal family closest to the young monarch to reigning himself both in the great French aristocratic halls as in funny cabarets and low-class brothels. He was friends with the most unique royal figures of his time and with illustrious artists and writers who were part of his peculiar entourage. His debauchery became a major headache for the Spanish court. An undisguised homosexual, he did not lack, however, very rich suitors, although he would only marry the septuagenarian Princess de Broglie who saw his enormous fortune vanish in just a few years of marriage.
