El fraude perfecto
LaCorte, Ellen
Being a mother is hard. So is being a daughter. When we meet her, Claire is dodging calls from her mother, the famous psychic and healer Miss Madeline, to whom clients come from all states and even abroad. Claire works in the family business and she also calls herself a psychic, but she doesn't really have "the family gift", and she considers herself a fraud. Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, young mother Rena has family problems of her own. She is divorced and her four-year-old daughter, Stephanie, suffers from seemingly incurable stomach problems. No matter how many specialists I take her to, no matter how many posts by her on her blog for her moms Stephanie's Struggle, the little girl is getting sicker and sicker. When Claire and Rena meet by chance on a plane, their carefully constructed lives begin to unravel. Can these two very different women help each other? And can they help Stephanie before it's too late? This is the story of a perfect fraud.
