This is the story of Ersin Karabulut, renowned Turkish comic artist; his search for success, often hindered, from the disadvantaged neighborhoods of Istanbul to reaching the summit of publishing and the satirical press, and how he experienced, sometimes on the front line, the transformation and political turmoil of a country that progressively went from be a democracy to an authoritarian regime. At the same time that he tells us about his career as an artist and average citizen, Ersin Karabulut composes the portrait of a country that is torn between deep political and social antagonisms, whose recent history has been woven around coups d'état, hopes, disillusionments and dramas. . A country that has seen basic freedoms that were considered already conquered attacked and gradually reduced.
