The sirocco of Sicilian August catches Viola totally unprepared. Roman journalist, queen of sarcasm, and affected by a synesthesia that induces her to associate colors with people, she landed almost a year ago in Palermo and is still trying to get used to an excessive place due to its scorching climate, its exuberance and its contrasts. . When a twenty-year-old girl is found murdered, Viola is unable to believe that the main suspect is Zefir, a popular singer. Determined to investigate for her account, she also delves into the past of a contradictory city in her investigation until, aided by her ability to perceive both the colors of people and what they really hide, she discovers the truth of a fragmented reality.
