Love is the cornerstone of our personal and social life. Thousands of literary and artistic reflections have been devoted to it, but we know very little about its scientific basis. However, science has a lot to tell us about love, the process of falling in love, breaking up, or how to rekindle a relationship. Without love our life would have no meaning, because we are programmed to find a person, establish bonds with them and try to have a life together. The more you know about a subject, the more you enjoy it. Knowing the neural mechanisms of love, we will better understand how it works to alleviate frustrations and failures, to do things better every day and try to achieve fulfillment in our lives, also in our love lives.
