Diccionario de turismo

(and others)
Tourism erupts as an economic activity, with great social and territorial impact, in the 20th century. This reality also justified that travel, mobility for leisure and tourism itself were consolidated as an important field of knowledge within the social sciences, with special relevance in some of its disciplines, among which economics, sociology stand out. and geography. The complexity of the phenomenon, its dynamism and the multiple dimensions it shows are expressed in the transversal nature of this field of knowledge, whose study implies the approach of very diverse aspects, such as territorial, economic, political, social, historical or cultural . All of them, in addition to complicating the analysis and understanding of tourism, have favored the existence of a broad set of terms and concepts that have been developed in parallel with advances in the characterization of tourism. They have been joined by some terms of their own, much more recent, among which Anglicisms and neologisms proliferate. This dictionary aims to establish a terminological, conceptually scientific and rigorous corpus, composed of the basic definitions of the words considered key for the interpretation of tourism. A corpus with a totalizing vocation, which has been prepared by professionals in geography, one of the disciplines most involved in the scientific analysis and systematization of tourism.
